Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
Hellog does not collect personal information unless you turn on the friends feature. This page explains what information the app stores, where it is stored, and how to delete it.
1. Personal information we collect
Hellog does not run a server. It does not collect your personal information or send it to the developer, and there is no sign-up or login. The one exception is the friends feature in section 4.
2. Information stored in the app
The information below, which you enter yourself, is stored only on your device.
- Workout records: exercise names, weight and reps for each set, workout time, notes
- Routines and exercises you create
- Body records: body weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage
- Equipment details: brand, model name, rating, notes
- Profile name and photo, app settings
3. iCloud sync
iCloud sync is on from the start if your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, and you can turn it off with "iCloud sync" in the app's Settings. While it is on, the records above are stored in your own iCloud account and kept in sync across devices that use the same Apple Account. This data goes into your private Apple CloudKit storage, and the developer cannot view it. It is kept according to the Apple Privacy Policy.
Your profile photo is not synced through iCloud and stays on the device where you set it. If you turn on "Public profile" in section 4, the photo is uploaded to Hellog's shared storage.
4. Friends feature
The friends feature is off by default. If you turn on "Public profile" in the Edit profile screen, the information below is uploaded to Hellog's shared storage in Apple CloudKit.
- Your nickname (ID), profile name, and photo: visible to anyone using Hellog.
- The items you choose from this week's workout days and time, volume, and detailed records: encrypted before upload, and only people who accepted a friend request and became your friend can open them.
- Friend requests and friend connections, and a user identifier from your iCloud account (a random value, not your name or email)
This storage is run by Apple, and the developer can see the public items with Apple's management tools. Turning sharing off deletes your profile and friend connections from the shared storage.
5. Tracking, ads, and analytics
Hellog contains no advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking tools. It does not track you across other apps or websites, and it does not share information with third parties.
6. Permissions the app asks for
- Notifications: used to tell you when your rest time is over. Notifications are scheduled on your device.
- Photos: the app does not ask for access to your photo library. When you change your profile photo, only the one photo you pick comes into the app.
7. Deleting your data
- Tapping Erase all data in the app's Settings deletes every record on your device. If iCloud sync is on, records in iCloud and on your other devices are deleted too. This cannot be undone.
- Turning off "Public profile" deletes your profile and friend connections from the shared storage. Turn it off before deleting the app.
- Deleting the app removes the records on your device. Records synced to iCloud remain, so to delete everything, use Erase all data before deleting the app.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the update on this page with a new effective date.
